This was the weekend to give the new ice cream maker another try. Making ice cold yummy treats is new for me so I am just full of ideas. At our house we’ve been enjoying homemade shave ice all summer but if you are willing to put in a little extra time this is worth it.
Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet
1.5 lbs fresh strawberries, trimmed
½ c lemon juice
¾ c water
½ c sugar- or less if your fruit is really sweet
Puree the berries and juice together in a food processor or blender. Place the water and the sugar in a microwave safe dish and heat for a minute and a half and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved, cool the mix in the fridge or add a few ice cubes to it. Now add the sugar syrup to the berries and blend well. Chill. Now you have to follow the directions for your ice cream maker. I added my fruit mix to the maker, surrounded the container with ice, turned it on and had a luscious sorbet in 30 minutes.

Wow yum!
Great idea for a sorbet! This looks so refreshing.
Yum! I love a good bowl of sorbet! This looks delicious!
Oh – where was this recipe last week when I was melting? So refreshing and summer-delicious!
What a fabulous flavor for a frozen treat. My kids always tease for strawberry lemonades when we are out….this would be a great way to get it at home…in dessert form!!
I definitely need to get me an ice cream machine!
I love the fact that your recipe uses real lemon juice and strawberries instead of lemonade concentrate like so many I’ve seen. Kudos for that! It looks fantastic.
Ok..that looks so refreshing and wonderful. Im going to have to make some. Lovely!
Lemonade and sorbet scream summer separately, but together…delicious!
oh my gosh, that looks amazing!
